Big 6 - Bio
Formed in 1998, the Group Big 6 consists of six members: Jakeno Crenshaw, Gerald Prince,
Christopher Johnson, James Wiggins, Carlos Bailey, and Matthew Croom. Due to a run-in with
the law, Matthew is currently serving a two year sentence. Big 6 was formed by Gerald Prince
while working at the Birmingham Race Course. Prince along with Bailey began
rapping at the tender age of 12 entering talent shows and performing at their school. After
meeting the rest of the guys, Prince introduced them to Bailey and everything seemed to
fall into place. The group began performing at small clubs and talent shows
making a lasting impression wherever they went.
Big 6 writes meaningful lyrics and their unique style is created by allowing their six personalities
to interact freely with each other. Their music is a cross between conscious Hip Hop and and what most people consider Gangster
Rap. Even though this group brings something totally new to the table, they can be compared to groups such as the
Goodie Mob and Nappy Roots.
